BAM – Bicycle Area Mobility Network Map

I’ve been asked what BAM is, as it relates to Cycling. Here in Hillsborough Co, Florida it refers to  Bicycle Area Mobility. This is the brain child of Alan Snel and SWFBUD (South West Florida Bicycle United Dealers, comprised of these twelve bicycle businesses and four lawyers. The 12 bike shops are: ABC Bicycles, Bicycle Outfitters, Carrollwood Bicycle Emporium, Chainwheel Drive, Just Ride Bicycles, Oliver’s Cycle Sports, Street Fit 360, Trek Bicycle Store of Tampa and Clearwater, Trek Bicycle Store of St. Petersburg, The Ironman Store, University Bicycle Center and Velo Champ. The three law firms are Tom Singletary, J. Steele Olmstead and the Mark Roman Law Group. )

SWFBUD believes communities that embrace and invest in bicycling become more successful and sustainable.

Architect Nico Stearley of HOK in Tampa created this gorgeous map illustration of the BAM Network Plan below — SWFBUD’s proposal to unify the Tampa Bypass Canal Trail, the South Coast Greenway and the Selmon Greenway into a unified superhighway system for bicyclists in the Tampa/Hillsborough area.
